![]() ![]() I changed my Tidal account within the past 6 weeks however I can’t say whether this was a cause or a coincidence. It used to work previously but as I do most of my listening on local files I can’t identify exactly when it stopped playing from Tidal.Ī couple of changes that may be related worth noting I have a log that covers the “Play” event and the “Pause” or “Stop” event on Tidal but I’m not posting it publicly as I don’t know what is sensitive, if anything Changed the DNS servers on my Core from my local resolver to 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 (as well as leaving them as they were to resolve locally). ![]() Rebooted the Core and then logged back into my Tidal account. Gone Settings > Services > Tidal and clicked Logout.Tried from desktop, Android and Apple devices with the same result.Moved the Cache on the Roon Server (/var/Roon/RoonServer/Cache/ to /Cache-old and restarted the server. In order to rectify this and based on how other people have “solved” this issue previously I have The track does not and never does start to play instead a fast moving blue line goes left to right and back along the play bar. When I press play on a track in Roon the “track length” bar updates and shows the correct track length. There is no problem with playing Tidal tracks using the same account through the Tidal application on Android or Desktop. There is no problem with searching for tracks on Tidal through Roon. However when I play any Tidal track from my Core, it does not play. I am able to play locally held music from a local share and using ARC I can access both local AND Tidal music without issue. ![]() Two Hifiberry (Raspberry Pi 4) and one Roopie (Rasperry Pi Zero 2) endpoint on 2.4Ghz Number of Tracks in Libraryĥ0,000+ but not relevant as this affects Tidal only Description of Issue VPN is used for all endpoints Connected Audio Devices I have a VPN but it is not being used for Core. I’m happy to pay 10 euros per month for that.AMD Threadripper 1900 with 4cores allocated I just want to have good suggestions for new music and info about the music and artists. I don’t need a server to store my old music because I stream everything via Tidal or Qobuz anyway, what’s the point? Hardware and software from ROON is always needed. All other solutions are rather a “tinkering solution” and I would not suggest in any case. I can recommend as hardware only the own ROON Nucleus or Nucleus Plus for EUR 1.550,- or 2.600,- EUR plus the software with 120,- Dollar per year. ROON is certainly currently the most comprehensive and best quality in the field of music servers. Now once again the question whether Roon is worth it for me. In a blind test I probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference either. On Qobuz it sounds a bit brighter and clearer, but it’s true. I have now tried some rock and classical titles. Is Roon worth it for me if I want the best user interface and the best recommendations?ĭo I really need a Roon Core as a server for this or are there other solutions for me? Where is the best and most extensive offer? What specifically is missing from Qobuz compared to Tidal? My genres are rock, especially prog rock, but also classical. From earlier times I still have CD’s, but most of them are included in the iTunes collection. So far, I’ve bought everything on iTunes. My current music collection consists of about 1,100 albums (82 GB on my hard drive). My impression is that Qobuz doesn’t have all the artists and albums, and Tidal has a better selection overall. I also don’t want to miss out on anything when it comes to music selection. It is important to me to always have the best audio quality. Unfortunately, I had to realize that Tidal only delivers Hifi quality or Naim does not allow this higher. ![]() I am a seeker and collector and believe that here Roon is simply the ultimate. Now I’m just considering whether Roon with the new version 1.8 might be worthwhile for me. I have a Mu-so 2 and have only tested with Tidal so far. ![]()
